Haji Suleiman Gajar Iravani

Well-known physician and scientist of Azerbaijan. His Favaidul-hikmat (Benefit of wise) written in Persian was famous not only in Azerbaijan, as well as in the Central Asia and Iran. This book is medieval Pharmacology Encyclopedia and narrates about thousands of medicinal plants’, animals and mineral’s healing qualities. Rare manuscript copies of the work Favaidul-Hikmat is kept in the National Academy of Sciences Institute of Manuscrits, as well as in Iran and Egypt. In some catalogs, its name is Kitabul-Hikmat (A book of knowledge).
