June 1
Today the International Children\'s Day is celebrated all over the world.
1907 - a well-known linguist, scholar, Professor Salim Jafarov was born
1920 - Decree on nationalization of the theaters was issued. Azerbaijan State Theatre has been created.
1936 - people\'s artist, conductor, professor Nariman Abbasgulu oglu Azimov was born.
1940 -the famous master of cotton, the first woman machine operator, hero of Socialist Labor Sevil Gaziyeva was born. 
1992 – In Rome city the first  negotiations on the Karabakh settlement  under the auspices of the CSCE (OSCE since 1995) has been launched. 
1992 - Azerbaijan and Luxembourg (the country recognized our independence on December 31, 1991) established diplomatic relations.
1997 - co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group (Russia, USA, France) had offered a comprehensive plan for the settlement of the Karabakh conflict to Azerbaijan and Armenia. 

June 2
1918 - the oil industry in our country was nationalized for the first time 
1931 - People\'s Artist, singer Mobil Ahmedov was born 
1938 - the first civil aviation group of Azerbaijan has been organized. The first aviation school was established in 1915, and with the route of the Baku-Tbilisi the first line of civil aviation opened in 1923.
1957 - People\'s Artist, the famous singer Shahnaz Hasan kizi Hashimova was born 
1979 - A well-known film director Hussein Seidzade died 
1989 – Leadership of Republic of Armenia  confessed committing of ethnic cleansing in the territory of republic against the Azerbaijani population. 
1993 - Next provocation of Armenians in the Azerbaijani railway was committed.
2008 - Academy of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan was created.

June 3
829 – troops of Babak Khurrami defeated Arab army in the battle near Hashdadsar Mountain.
1920 - the army of  Democratic Republic  led by Nuri Pasha resisting to  Bolshevik  occupation in Karabakh and Zangezur captured the city of Shusha.  Additional compounds of the Russian XI army were sent against them.
1920 - the famous Azerbaijani scientist, philosopher, academician Ali Kocharli was born.
1957 - The writer Afaq Masud was born in Baku. She is an author of Crowd, Freedom, Funeral, John II, Fatma and others novels, He loves me, Women thrown herself under train and others plays.
1996 - Azerbaijani, Georgian, Armenian and Russian presidents H.Aliyev, E. Shevarnadze, L.T.Petrosyan, B.Yeltsin  signed the  Declaration  “For ethnic reconciliation, peace, economic and cultural cooperation in the Caucasus” in the city of Kislovodsk. 
2006 - the first tanker loaded with of Azerbaijani oil (The British Hawtharne) have been sent from  Ceyhan terminal named after Heydar Aliyev. 

June 4
1869 - poet Bayramali Abbaszade, follower of  Molla Nassredin was born in the South Azerbaiijan’s Sarab city.
1918 – as a result of negotiations held in Batumi the Peace and friendship Treaty has been signed between  the Democratic Republic and the Ottoman Empire. 
1926 - The famous singer, the irreplaceable performer of Kasma shikaste Fatma Mehraliyeva (1926-2000) was born in Guba.
1926 - One of the outstanding figures of Azerbaijani sport, honored coach Shamil Shamkhalov was born.
1953-well-known scientist, correspondent member of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Doctro of physics and mathematics Zohrab Veliyev was born.
1993 - the armed clash took place in Ganja between troops led by former corps commander Surat Huseynov and  government forces  of Azerbaijan.
2004 - President Ilham Aliyev paid an official visit to Ukraine.
2006 - the next negotiations held in Bucharest (Romania) in the summit of the Black Sea Dialogue and Partnership Forum  between Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia on the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement

101st anniversary of the birth of the famous Azerbaijani poet Mikayil Mushfiq.
1866- the writer and publicist Eynali bey Sultanov was born.
1941 - a well-known figure in the scene, the State Prize laureate Hamlet Khanizada was born.

1855 - The poet Abdulkhaliq Jannati was born in Baku 
1920 – in Zagatala the revolt against the Soviet government began 
1925 - People\'s Artist Zaros Hamzayeva was born.
1951 - The famous singer, the People\'s Artist Khuraman Gasimova was born
2001 - President Heydar Aliyev signed the Yalta Charter defining the status and structure of the organization at GUUAM Summit of Heads of State in Yalta.
2008 - Azerbaijan\'s President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian President Serzh Sarkisian had first meeting on the settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh in St. Petersburg, within the framework of the CIS informal summit.
 
June 7
1893 - first woman artist with professional education Qeysər Seyfulla kizi Kasiyeva was born in Tbilisi.
1905- the first number of the daily socio-political, economic and literary  Hyat -Life newspaper was published in the press  Caspian in Azerbaijani language.
1922 - by the decision of Soviet government the main department on matters of literature and publishing (Qlavlit) has been created.
1926- Doctor of Medical Sciences, professor, the deserved doctor of Azerbaijan Nazim Efendiyev was born.
1946 - A well-known screenwriter, director, honored art worker Ramiz Fataliyev was born.
1992 - Extraordinary Presidential elections held in Azerbaijan and A. Aliyev(Elchibey), the chairman of PFA was elected as President of the Republic.
1993 - the Conference of heads of state and government agencies took place in the Office of the President of in connection with  Ganja tragic events
 
June 8
1800 - Outstanding representative of Azerbaijani literature, the famous Ashyg  Aly was born in Goycha
1908- first number of the public - political, economic, literary Progress newspaper was published in  Azerbaijan language.

June 9  
1488 – at the foot Shahdag was a combat between the combined forces of the Shirvanshahs and Gyzylbash (Safavi) troops.
1887 - the well-known representative of Azerbaijani literature of XX century Seyid Hussein was born. 1930- A well-known composer, honored art worker Telman Hajiyev was born.
1984 - House Museum of the writer and playwright Husein Javid opened in Nakhichevan.
1989 - The famous singer and the People\'s Artist of the USSR, Hero of Socialist Labor Rashid Behbudov died.
1992 - Azerbaijan established diplomatic relations with Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Turkmenistan. 
1993 - Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan, Heydar Aliyev arrived in Baku at the invitation of President Abulfaz Elchibey.
1993 - the National Assembly  made a decision on granting of amnesty to persons participated in rebellion in Ganja and creation of commission for  MP-s for investigation of Ganja events.
1998 - President Heydar Aliyev attended the meeting of the 5th summit of the Turkic-speaking heads of state  at Kazakhstan\'s new capital Astana.
2002 - Nizami monument was opened in St. Petersburg, Russia.
2007 – no progress has been achieved in the negotiations in Saint Petersburg between Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia in connection with the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. 

June 10  
1854- a national hero Gachag Nabi was born
1904 -a well-known literary critic, Honored scientific worker, academician Mamamd Arif was born.
1906 - national poet of Azerbaijan Suleyman Rustam was born.
1907, the famous composer, People\'s artist, laureate of State Prize Said Rustamov was born.
1918 - the army of Baku Commissars  Soviet led by Stepan Shaumyan moved towards Ganja.
1929 – one of the well-known chemists of Azerbaijan Alihusein Guliyev was born.
1931- People\'s Artist, sculptor Eljan  Shamilov  was born
1993 - the North Atlantic Cooperation Council, consultative body of the NATO member and partner countries adopted the statement  supporting the UN Security Council Resolution 822 (April 30, 1993) 
2000 - President Heydar Aliyev attended the summit of heads of state of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) 

June 11
1913 - a well-known figure of the scene, USSR People\'s Artist Hokuma Gurbanova was born in Baku,.
1924- a well-known historian and orientalist, academic Igrar Aliyev was born. 
1947- the outstanding figure of Southern Azerbaijan Revolutionary movement, the founder of Azerbaijan Democratic Party, publicist Seyed Jafar Pishavari mysteriously died in a car accident.
1993- Diplomatic relations were established between Azerbaijan and Republic of Belarus.

June 12
1806 - Ibrahim Khan Javanshir, Khan of Karabakh was killed by Russian soldiers near Shusha  in Khanbaghi with his family 
1830 - a new uprising against the Russian occupation began in Balakan. 
1928 - The writer, an outstanding representative of Azerbaijani literature Isa Huseynov (Muganna) was born.
1933 - People\'s Artist, the famous master of laughter Hajibaba Bagirov was born.
1936-A well-known psychologist, doctor, doctor of medical sciences, professor Agabey Sultanov was born.
1943 - the famous screenwriter and director Ogtay Mirgasimov was born.
2007 - Academy of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan Republic was established

June 13
1709 - an outstanding representative of Azeri classical poetry Molla Vali Vidadi was born in Gazakh.
1796 - The Russian troops rallied in the northern lands of Azerbaijan, under the command of the general V.Zubov occupied Baku.
1882 - Aliabbas Muznib was born.
1906- honored art worker, film director and actor Mammad Alil was born.
1934 - The first congress of writers of Azerbaijan began in Baku 
1959 - People\'s Artist, the famous actress Basti Jafarova was born 
1993 - intensive discussions began on Ganja events (4th of June) in the Parliament of Azerbaijan.

1875-the famous tar player, music figure Mashadi Jamil Amirov was born in Shusha.
1888 - Social and political figure and publicist Jamo bey Hajinsky was born.
1919 - The Parliament of the People\'s Republic made a decision to declare the situation in the country.
1926 - the famous tar player, People\'s artist Habib Bayramov was born.
1946 – in South Azerbaijan (Tabriz), the Azerbaijan National Government led by Seyed Jafar Pishavari was collapsed

1918- famous Azerbaijani composer, honored art worker, artist Haji Khanmammadov was born. 
1924 - People\'s Poet, the State Prize laureate Hussain Arif was born.
1934-The poet and oriental scholar Hussein Kurdoglu was born in Lachin.
1992 - National Hero of Azerbaijan journalist Chingiz Mustafayev was killed in the tragic way in
 Aghdam’s village of Nakhchivanik.
1993 - Election of H.Aliyev as the Chairman of the Supreme Soviet of the Republic of Azerbaijan, - The Salvation Day.

June 16
1864 - A well-known educational figure Habib bey Mahmudbeyov was born in Shamakhi.
1888 - people\'s artist, an actor Hajiaga Abbasov was born in the village of Mashtagha of Baku.
1918 - National Council and the Provisional Government of the People\'s Republic moved from Tbilisi to Ganja.
1919 - Treaty between Georgia and Azerbaijan signed on military alliance.
1938- a well-known architect Fuad Seidzade was born 
1939 - Poet, literary critic, philosopher, public figure Rafik Zeka Khandan was born.
1992 - Azerbaijan and Romania (the country recognized our independence on December 11, 1991) established diplomatic relations.
2006 - during visit of President Ilham Aliyev to  Kazakhstan  the agreement was reached with country to join the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.

June  17 
The professional holiday of workers of the public health in Azerbaijan Republic.
1918 - The Azerbaijan\'s National Council  having its first meeting in Ganja, in view of the grave situation in the country decided to stop the activity and to  hand over all the power (legislative and executive) to the Council of Ministers until convening of the new parliament (Muassilar Majlisi).
1918 - Democratic Republic had organized the new structure in the composition of the Council of Ministers - the Ministry of Health.
1926 – the people artist Elbey Rzaguliyev was born.
1929-  famous tar player Boyukaga Javanshirov was born
1992 – Azerbaijan and Kingdom of Belgium (the country recognized our independence on December 31, 1991) established diplomatic relations.
1992 - elected as the president of the Republic of Azerbaijan Abulfaz Elchibey began execution of his  authorities.

June 18
The National Day of Human Rights.
1917 - prominent Azerbaijani composer, People\'s Artist, professor Jovdat Hajiyev was born.
1918- by the decision of the government of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic from June 18 at the meetings on religious matters of the government, Sheikhulislam and Mufti  was given the decisive votes
 
June 19 
1747 - The Turkic King of Iran, Nadir Shah Afshar was killed as a result of conspiracy.
1900 - an outstanding representative of Azerbaijani theater and cinema, artist Mohsen Sanani was born. 
1920 – one of the founders of the People\'s Republic Fatali Khan Khoyski  have been killed by Armenian terrorists Aram Erkayan and Misak Grigoryan in Tbilisi.
1992 - Diplomatic relations were established between Azerbaijan and Australia.
1997 - during official visit of President Heydar Aliyev of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan  Azerbaijan opened its  first embassy in Tashkent in whole Central Asia. 
2006 – 32nd session of Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Conference held in Baku. Azerbaijan hosted annual meeting of the OIC for the first time.
2007 - The summit of the heads of state of Organization for Democracy and Economic Development - GUAM was held in Baku 
2008 - a solemn meeting on occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Parliament of the Democratic Republic was held in the National Assembly.

June 20
It is celebrated as a holiday of Azerbaijan\'s gas industry workers.
1898 - People\'s Artist, actor Ali Mirza oglu Kurbanov was born.
1921 - the famous composer, the People\'s Artist  Jahangir Jahangirov was born.
1923- the famous master of scene, honored artist Rahila Malikova was born.
1924 - bibliographer, literary critic, Professor Nazim Akhundov was born.
1960- a national hero Gultekin Askerova was born.
1971 - at the initiative of the 1st Secretary of Communist Party of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev  the decision was made to establish  the first military educational institution - the military school named after Jamshid Nakhchivanski. Beginning activity in 1973 the military school played an exceptional role in the training  of national officers.
1992 - Azerbaijan and Estonia (the country recognized our independence on February 20, 1992) established diplomatic relations.
1997 - United States, Russian and French presidents Bill Clinton, Boris Yeltsin and Jacques Chirac made a joint statement on the settlement of Karabakh conflict at the U.S. city of Denver, during the Great 8 Summit. 

June 21
1503 - the Safavid forces led by  Shah Ismail  defeated  the army of Sultan Murad at battle near Almagulagy.
1794 - historian, poet, educator Abbasgulu aga Bakikhanov was born in the village Amirdjan (Khila) near Baku city.
1830 – People rebelled against the imperial regime in Zagatala.
1918 - the state flag was founded by decision of the government of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic.
1933 - a well-known scientist and public figure Tofiq Ismailov was born
1991 - Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev has signed a decree on awarding of twice Soviet Union Hero, Major-General Hazi Aslanov with the Order of Lenin and the second Gold Star medal (posthumously) 

June 22 
1802 - The famous orientalist scientist, educator Mirza Kazımbey was born.
1897 - founder of Azerbaijani classic vocal school, the famous singer, national artist Bulbul (Murtuza Mammadov) was born in Shusha.
1902 - One of the prominent representatives of Azerbaijani art, folk artist Ismail Osmanly was born.
1921- a well-known figure enlightenment  Gurban Aliyev was born.
1924- the writer Jalal Bargushad was born.
1929 - Outstanding Geology, Professor Farhad Zeynalov was born.
1941- a well-known musician, Bahram Nasibov was born.
1947 - a well-known poet of Azerbaijan Eldar Bakhish was born.
1999 - the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (signed in Luxembourg on April 22, 1996) came into force between  European Union (EU) and Azerbaijan

June 23
This day is celebrated as the Day of the Civil Service.
1908 - counterrevolutionary coup took place in Tehran and the supporters of Constitution were annihilated.
1918 - The Council of Ministers of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic  made a decision to mobilize  all forces in the country and to declare martial law to fight Dashnak-Bolshevik Baku commune .
1920 - National Government of Azerbaijan established in Tabriz, headed by Sheikh Mohammed Khiyabani.
1923-a poet, literary critic, the State Prize laureate Gasim Gasimzade was born
1923- a public figure Najmaddin Ahmedov was born 

June 24 
1092 - Great Azerbaijani poet Abul-Ula Ganjavi was born.
1920 – beginning of activity of National Government  of South Azerbaijan in Tabriz has become a national holiday. The establishment of the National Government under the leadership of Sheikh Mohammed Khiyabani  was declared a day before on June 23.
1921- The scientist and educator Aliheydar Hashimov was born
1938 – 2nd President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the national-liberation movement leader, founder and chairman of the Azerbaijani People\'s Front, A. Aliyev (Elchibey) was born.
1993 - The National Assembly has been widely discussed the grave political crisis in the country.

June 25
1907 - People\'s Artist of Azerbaijan Oglua Hajiyeva was born in Sheki 
1911 - master of the stage, people\'s artist Aghadadash Kurbanov was born.
1920-The writer, script writer, honored art worker Hasan Seyidbeyli was born 
1932-A well-known physicist, professor Gudrat Akhundov was born.
1992 – in Istanbul, at conference held at the initiative of Turkish President Turgut Ozalın the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization was founded.
2005 - for the first time Azerbaijan\'s Air Force  demonstrated high flying maneuvers over sky of Baku at  the solemn ceremony dedicated to the next gradation of Azerbaijan High Military School named after Heydar Aliyev. 

June 26
1917 - military man, Lieutenant-General of artillery Hussein Rasulbeyov was born.
1918 - the Government of the People\'s Republic  has decided to create a separate division of 
First National Army unit 
2008 - on the occasion of 90th anniversary of the National Army of Azerbaijan, a grand military parade was held in Freedom Square in Baku.

June 27
1918 - The Caucasian Islamic Army consisting of Azerbaijan and Turkish (Ottoman) military forces defeated the troops of Baku Soviet in battle near Goychay .
1918 - The Government of the People\'s Republic of Azerbaijan adopted a decision On State language. Azeri (Turkish) language in the territory of the People\'s Republic was declared the state language.
1918- Under leadership of famous Azerbaijani commanders, generals Ali Agha Shikhlinski and Samad bey Mehmandarov Separate Azerbaijani corps was established.
1918 - by  decision of the government of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic the court and school systems were nationalized.
1921 - Central Committee of Azerbaijan Communist (Bolsheviks) Party rejected the claim on Nagorno-Karabakh by the Armenian SSR.
1924 - Well-known actor Malik Dadashov was born in Baku.
1991 - Supreme Soviet of the Republic of Azerbaijan made a decision to participate in the contract On the Union of Sovereign States.
1991 - Armenian armed forces attacked village Garadaghli of Azerbaijanians of Nagorno-Karabakh\'s Martuni (now Khojavend) region and killed 6 residents 
1993 - Armenian armed forces captured center of the region Aghdara (Mardakert) in the north of Nagorno-Karabakh.

June 28  
1837 - Outstanding Azerbaijani enlightener, scientist, publicist and teacher Hasan bey Zardabi  was born in the village of Zardab of former  province Goychay.
1863- the well-known military man, Lieutenant-General Hussein Khan Nakhchivanski was born 
1914 - the famous scene figure, the popular artist Barat Shekinskaya was born. 
1926 - A well-known public figure, Lieutenant-General of interior affairs Arif Heydarov was born 
1996 - Bureau of Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe (PACE) made a decision on giving of the Special guest status to Azerbaijan. 
2000 -  at the summer session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe  the resolution was adopted on recommendation of the adoption of  Azerbaijan as a member to the Council of Europe (PACE). 

June 29
1913 - People\'s poet Nigar Rafibeyli was born in Ganja.
1990 - Council of Ministers of the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic made a decision “On the restoration of sovereign rights of Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic on Autonomous Province of Nagorno-Karabakh and socio-economic development of the province. 
1992 - Republic of Azerbaijan established diplomatic relations with New Zealand.
1994 - President Heydar Aliyev paid the first official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran. Prior to this  in October 1993  the Iranian president made a visit to Azerbaijan.
1995 - President Heydar Aliyev left for an official visit to Bulgaria and Romania.
2004 - Azerbaijan\'s President Ilham Aliyev attended the NATO summit in Istanbul.

June 30
1625 - In the course of the next of Safavid-Ottoman War  Shah Abbas’s  troops won the combined forces of Georgian czars and took control over the region again.
1812 - Well-known writer, playwright, poet and philosopher Mirza Fatali Akhundzade was born
1850 - one of the military figure of Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan,  Major-General Firudin Vezirov was born.
1887-  the famous tar player, teacher, honored art worker Mirza Mansur was born.
1993 - on recommendation of The National Assembly Chairman,  acting president Heydar Aliyev, the appointment  of Surat Huseynov as the Prime Minister was confirmed 
1998 - Milli Mejlis has adopted a new Constitution of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
