Shamsaddil sultanate

Shamshaddil sultanate was established in the territory of Zayam mahal and in the western areas from it, and its area was considered as inherited province of Shamsaddil tribe, one of branch of Zulgadar tribe from the time of Shah Ismail 1. In 1743 it was given by Nadir shah to subordination of Katrli czar Teymuraz. Later its area was united with Gazakh. It was called Gazakh-Shamsaddil sultanate. In 1801 Kartli-Kakhetia was annexed by Russia and sultanate was abolished in 1819.
