Azerbaijani river network consists of more than 8350 rivers, of which 2 river’s length is over 500 km, 22 rivers – between 101-500 km, 324 rivers – between 11-100 km, and length of most of the rivers is less than 10 km.
The rivers of he Republic of Azerbaijan belongs to the Caspian basin as a whole. In separate they are related to three basins:
1. Kura River and rivers of its basin  (the left and right tributaries of the Kura River)
2. Rivers of Araz basin (left tributaries of the Araz)
3. Rivers directly flowing to the Caspian Sea.
