The Ministry Of Finance Of The Republic Of Azerbaijan

The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan is the central organ of executive power carrying out financial policy and organizing management of state finance.

The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan was established in 1918 when the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic was announced. The first Minister of Finance was Nasibbay Yusifbeyli. 

The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan functions under a statute approved by Decree No. 48 of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, dated February 9, 2009, after its restoration of independence. At present, the system of the Ministry of Finance includes Department of the Treasury on Central Bodies, the State Chamber of Measure, Information-Computer Center, Finance Science and Education Center. 

The Ministry prepares drafts of the state and brief budget, executes cashier works in accordance with approved indicators of the state budget, ensures the execution of insurance activities, public debt management, state regulation in organization and managing accounting, state control over areas of the state budget funds, in the preparation of proposals on the main directions of state policy in the determination of monetary and customs policy.
