Samed Vurgun (1906 - 1956) - One of the founders of modern poetry, the first national poet of Azerbaijan.

The Azerbaijanism idea had a leading position in the creation of S. Vurgun. In his works he praised the Azerbaijani people and its glorious history, natural beauty with high poetic art.  Poet is known with philosophical poems and dramas.
Works of S.Vurgun were published in several foreign countries.
