Anecdotes are little preface spoken while beginning of tales in the form of the poetry. 

For instance:

Hamam, hamam içində,

Xəlbir saman içində.

Dəvə dəlləklik eylər

Köhnə hamam içində.

Qarışqa şıllaq atdı, 

Dəvənin budu batdı.

Xanın yarıtmaz oğlu

Elin varını satdı.

Puluna doşab aldı,

İçdi yıxıldı-yatdı...

Anecdote does not usually coincidence with common subject of tale, and only has a purpose to draw attention of listener, to make them interested in. Then introduction words (Biri vardi, biri yoxmus, Allahdan basqa heç kim yoxmus, Günlerin bir gununde, Memmednesir tininde, toyuqlarin hininde) come. Talebearers use traditional sentences and expressions to connect events with each other and to make talk sweeter: Hagıl dili yuyrək olar, Az getdi, uz getdi, dərə, təpə duz getdi etc.
