Ajami Nakhchivani (20-ies of XII century - the end of XII century)
Ajami Abubakr oglu Nakhchivani is the outstanding representative of the Azerbaijani architecture, the founder of the Nakhichevani School of architecture. On the monuments made by him he called self as the son of Abubakr Ajami, Nakhchivanli architect it is seen how arts, engineering, architecture was unified in synthetic form. Great people of the East named him as “Sheikh al-muhandis”. Creature of Ajami was connected with Nakhchivan, the capital of XII century mighty Atabeyler state of Azerbaijan. The first known monument of Ajami is the mausoleum of Yusuf ibn Kuseyr. This mausoleum located in the center of the town of Nakhchivan and called among people as Dome of Atababa was built in 1162. Momina Khatun mausoleum which is considered the highest and delicate composition not only in Azerbaijan, but the whole Islamic world, was erected by Ajami in 1186 in the western part of Nakhchivan.

Masud Amiraddin Nakhchivani (XII century)
He is a representative of the Nakhchivan school of architecture. He of lived in the palace Eldanizs in Nakhichevan. He was a successor to the architectural style of Ajami, and took part in the construction of public buildings and decoration in addition to religious and memorial, architecture. Like his contemporary Nizami Gancavi Amiraddin Masud Nakhchivani did not accept the views of the palace astrologers on the interference of the stars in events on the earth, and he protested when they tried to convince Atabəy as if a hurricane capable to sweep 42 m of land. Being right in his objection to it Amiraddin Masud Nakhchivani also expressed his views in poems. It is narrated in the poem “Ajaib-al-Buldan.

Ahmad Nakhchivani (XIII-XIV)
Ahmad ibn Ayyub al-Hafiz Nakhchivani played an important role in the development of architecture of Nakhchivan by creating of monuments and buildings in the style of Nakhchivan School of architecture. Barda mausoleum minaret made of brick (1322) and Baba mausoleum (XIV century) are considered as works of the architect Ahmad ibn Ayyub al-Hafiz.

Gasim bey Hajıbababeyov (1812-1874)
Gasim bey Hajibaba oglu Hacıbababeyov was the architect of Baku city until 1868, and since 1868 till 1874 the architect of Shamakhy.
Parapet Garden (Fountains gardens), Nizami Museum (1860), Araz cinema complex, Sahil (1860-1861), Sisiyanov Park (1860), Residential building at Vorontsov street 1, (1870), Residential buildings at Krivaya street(1870)  are works of Qasim bey Hajibababayov.

Safikhan Garabaghi (1817-1910)
Safikhan Garabagi a special contribution in the development of architecture of Garabagh. In buildings built by him,    especially in the mosques the constructive elements of the eastern architecture were connected to local traditions. Reconstruction of Imamzadeh mosque in Barda (1868), mosque in Agdam  (1870), Ashaghi mosque in Shusha (1874-75) and the restoration of Govharaga mosque (XIX century), as well as the Tatar mosque in Odessa, Ukraine (1870), Qarabaglılar Mosque (1880) in Ashgabat are best works of  Kerbalayi Safikhan Garabagi.

Mikail Huseynov (1905-1989)
On the basis of projects of Mikail Alesker oglu Huseynov cultural buildings were built in Baku, Ganja, Nakhchivan, Sheki and. other regions.
House of Scientists located in Baku, Monolet, Music Academy, Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Absheron and “Azerbaijan” and other hotels are work of this architect.

David Akhundov (1918 -)
State Prize laureate, an honorary member of the International Eastern Academy of Sciences David Akhundov is an author of a number of residential buildings in Baku, Sumgait, Mingechevir, Agdam and other cities. 
David Akhundov conducted a scientific research on architectural monuments of the pre-Islamic and post-Islamic period.

Abbas Alasgarov (1937)
Chairman of the Board of the Union of Architects, the honorary architect of Azerbaijan. While heading the  Bakıdovlatlayiha Institute, he headed the construction of residential areas for Gunashli, Ganligol, Yeni Yasamal, Ahmadli, Sahil, Badamdar, Lokbatan, the building of the Embassy of the PRC, the National Park\'s plan, the projects for residence of MP-s of Milli Majlis and others. He is one of authors of Baku General Plan.

Gulchohra Mammadova (1953)
Being engaged in the scientific activity G. Mammadova reported at many international conferences and has led a number of international projects. She is a member of the International Academy of Sciences, Eastern European dept and International Academy of Architecture, Department of Eastern countries. Restoration of Kish temple in Sheki region, Nij temple in Gabala, sand basilica in Gakh region, 16-storey residential building of Sharq MTK in Baku were implemented by projects of G. H. Mammadova.

Rizvan Garabaghly (1956)
Rizvan Sary oglu Garabaghly is a member of the Union of Architects of Azerbaijan. Basing on his projects Monument to the memory of Martyrs\' complex Heydar park” in the territory of Fuzuli region, “The mausoleum of Seyed-Ashraf mosque architectural complex in Khirdalan mass grave, as well as the construction of residential buildings in different places were built.
